During its October meeting, the College Foundation welcomed three new trustees: Dr. Richard E. Coin (History ’75), a plastic surgeon from St. Louis, Mo.; J. Sanford Miller (Drama ’71), managing director, 3i Venture Capital in Menlo Park, Calif.; and John B. Morse, Jr. (History ’68) vice president, finance, and CFO of The Washington Post Company in Washington, D.C.

The College Foundation is an independent University-related foundation created by alumni of the College of Arts & Sciences. The organization raises funds for and advocates on behalf of the College and Graduate School. It also manages major gifts and endowments for the benefit of Arts & Sciences. Among its fund-raising priorities are the nearly $100 million in private funds needed for construction of the South Lawn Project, leadership gift commitments to support the Arts Grounds, and other infrastructure, personnel and programmatic objectives of the school. For information about making gifts through the College Foundation, contact Tom Jennings, associate dean for development, at 434-924-6880.
