Benefactors Society board welcomes new members

By Staff Writers

During its October meeting, the Arts & Sciences Benefactors Society Board of Directors welcomed 10 new members, for a total of 24.

The Arts & Sciences Benefactors Society was founded in 1993 to honor and thank alumni and friends who contribute $2,500 or more annually to the Arts & Sciences Annual Fund. The Benefactors Society Board of Directors was created in 2003, and it became a subcommittee of the College Foundation’s
Development Committee in April 2005.

The Benefactors Society board works with the College Foundation, the dean of the College and Graduate School and the Arts & Sciences Development Office to raise awareness among prospective donors of the importance of leadership-level unrestricted gifts to the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. Last year the board led the way by achieving 100 percent participation in the A&S Annual Fund at the Benefactors Society level.
