U.Va. rocks in fall magazine rankings

Newsweek:
A special back-to-school issue named Virginia one of “25 New Ivies.”
U.S. News & World Report:
U.Va. continues to be ranked the No. 2 public university, behind the University of California-Berkeley and tied with the University of Michigan. The University tied with Michigan for 24th in the overall ranking of national universities. Last year U.Va. tied Georgetown University at 23.
Kiplinger’s:
Virginia was third among 50 best values in public colleges, behind the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and the University of Florida and just ahead of The College of William and Mary.
Black Enterprise:
U.Va. made the list of the 50 “Top Colleges for African Americans,” ranking 35th.
Men’s Fitness:
On the list of the top 25 “Fittest Colleges in America 2006,” U.Va. ranked 11th.
